Sabam Malau is Chairman of NSCF-North Sumatera Coffee Forum. Ir. Bangun Tampublon MSc is Lecturer of HKBP Nommensen University.
Green coffee bean (nonrosted) of Indonesian had 37% Market Share in internal ASEAN’s market with export value USD 62.3 billion while the competitor is Vietnam with market share 63%. Market Share of Indonesian green coffee bean (nonroasted) that is sold in external ASEAN’s market is 35% with export value USD 943.7 billion while competitor is Vietnam with market share 65%.
As we know, Indonesia is the fifth biggest coffee producers of the world. Indonesian coffee grows 15% recently, and needs significant efforts in order to increase exports. All parties have its own duties. Indonesian, provincial and regencial government plays a big role through political negociation with targeted countries and through providing conducive atmosphere and facilitating. The new Regulation of Minister Of Trade Of The Republic Of Indonesia On The Export Of Coffee signed by Minister Mari Elka Pangestu shall surely be able to stimulate terrific export of Indonesian coffee. Also the Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association (AEKI) through its member have been contributing to export success. Not to be neglected is the greatest role of indonesian coffee growers who provide the best coffee bean of the world through implementing Good Agricultural Practice in Coffee Field.
